Matt Brown
Matt has been conducting interventions since 2005 and started his own company, Freedom Interventions in 2010. During that time, he has led well over 1000 interventions and helped families and individuals get the resources to find lasting recovery from addiction and mental health issues.
In 2001 his own family needed to intervene on him due to his addiction to alcohol and other substances. At that time he refused the help being offered to him and the next two years were very difficult (but highly educational). On April 6, 2003 he got sober and has been sober ever since. In this podcast, Matt will share his experiences as a professional interventionist and a family man in long term recovery. Be advised: He's got opinions and they will be shared. Have fun.
Sam Davis
Sam began facilitating interventions in 2011 using a blend of intervention models and has performed over 700 interventions on seemingly every type of family dynamic out there. His company is Broad Highway Recovery located in Richmond, VA.
Sam found freedom from his own addiction after several failed, half measured attempts going in and out of several different treatment centers. On the last attempt, his family had enough and involved an intervention professional. That was the game changer as his family was told exactly what to do and why they were to do it. Sam has a passion for being the advocate for families that are struggling with addiction and don’t know what to do. He’s very critical of many of the treatment options available today and prides himself on guiding families through the minefield of finding good care. He’s known for his wit, straightforwardness, his boots and strong Virginia drawl. When not working, he’s with his family, hiking, hunting or on the boat in the Chesapeake bay, hooking into a fish.
